
SimSim-Participation Citoyenne, through the project “Fostering Parliamentary Openness, Responsiveness, and Accountability in Morocco” funded by the U.S. Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI), aims to support awareness and openness initiatives related to the House of Representatives, on the one hand, and to increase the capacity of citizens and civil society organizations to participate in communication and advocacy with Parliament. It also aims to monitor progress in implementing the House of Representatives action plan related to the Open Government Partnership Initiative.
Project Objectives:
This project aims to contribute to enhancing the openness of Parliament to citizens and improving public knowledge of its roles and functions through:
- Supporting and monitoring the progress of Parliament’s plan related to the Open Government Partnership Initiative.
- Strengthening the Moroccan civil society organizations’ advocacy skills.
- Increasing citizen participation in civil and political affairs.

Scheduled Activities:
- Advocating for the creation of a partnership framework between civil society and Parliament.
- Publishing periodic reports on the work of Parliament.
- Training journalists on Parliament activities media coverage.
- Monitoring the implementation of the House of Representatives action plan related to the Open Government Partnership Initiative.
- Training civil society organizations in terms of institutional advocacy and supporting them in advocating for their campaigns in Parliament.
- Supporting the establishment of a thematic working group on equality and parity in the House of Representatives.
- Organizing regional interactive meetings on citizen participation.
