SimSim-Participation Citoyenne, through this project, funded by the National Endowment for Democracy (NED), aims to support parliamentary openness and enhance citizen participation. This step will be achieved by increasing the capacity of citizens and civil society organizations to engage in communication and advocacy with the Parliament. The project will be implemented over three years, from February 2024 to January 2027.

Project Objectives: This project aims to promote parliamentary openness, enable citizens to access parliamentary information, foster citizen participation, and ensure continuous communication between citizens and the parliamentary institution through:

  • Enabling the public to access parliamentary information by supporting the digital parliament experience, initiating discussions, and communicating on parliamentary issues, as well as monitoring the parliament’s performance.
  • Strengthening the capacity of civil society organizations in advocacy.
  • Supporting the parliament in implementing participatory democracy.

  • A series of direct Nouabook meetings.

  • Collaborating with the House of Councillors on digital parliament.

  • Regional meetings to introduce the work of the Petitions Committee and encourage citizens to submit petitions and requests.
  • A training session on institutional advocacy.
  • Supporting civil society organizations in advocating for their campaigns.
  • Supporting the Petitions Committee in carrying out its duties.
  • Digital awareness content on parliamentary affairs.
